TrueDate™
Field: Accessibility · Also called: TrueDate
TrueDate™ is Rietta Inc.’s name for the analysis in its Metadata Minder platform that determines the best supported date for a document from the document’s text, visual content, and metadata together, instead of relying on the metadata date alone.
TrueDate is an unregistered trademark of Rietta Inc.
Method
TrueDate uses a three-witness approach. It gathers date evidence independently from a document’s text, its visual content such as a clerk’s file stamp on a scanned cover page, and its metadata, then corroborates those signals into a single best supported date. The result is an estimate for review, and a qualified person confirms it before it is relied on for an exception.
Purpose
Both ADA Title II exceptions for older content depend on dates. The archived web content exception covers content created before the compliance date, or reproducing paper documents or other physical media created before it, and the preexisting conventional electronic documents exception covers documents posted before the compliance date. A document’s metadata date often records when the file was produced, for example when a paper original was scanned, which can be years or decades after the original was created.
History
Frank Rietta coined the term in May 2026 while developing Metadata Minder for Rietta Inc. It appears publicly in Meet Titan, the Rietta AI Research Lab Server (Rietta, August 2026), ADA/WCAG Document Accessibility Audits for Government (Rietta, October 2026), and What Is Title II of the ADA? (Rietta, October 2026).
