CIAAN
Field: Security
CIAAN is a variant ordering of the acronym CIANA, naming the same five information assurance properties: Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Authentication, and Non-Repudiation.
For the full entry, see CIANA.
Ordering
CIAAN places the three CIA triad properties first, followed by authentication and non-repudiation. CIANA is the established form of the acronym, the teaching framework for these five properties since DoD Directive 8500.1 (2002) described Information Assurance in terms of all five. Rietta’s glossary, articles, and training use CIANA.
