Introducing DocLoupe: A Desktop ADA and WCAG Document Accessibility Analyzer
I am introducing DocLoupe: ADA & WCAG Document Accessibility Analyzer ahead of eCourts in Las Vegas this year. It is a desktop application with no telemetry, so your documents are scanned on your own computer and never leave it, and it is already a very performant local scanner and rescanner. We will not have a booth at eCourts, but I will be there as an attendee and would be glad to talk about document accessibility in the hallway or over coffee.
DocLoupe builds on what we learned making Metadata Minder, and like Metadata Minder it will feature a built-in project management board, so you can track which documents have been scanned, which need remediation, and which are done without leaving the application. There are no AI features in the initial launch, and that is deliberate. We focused on very fast CPU-based checks that run on your own hardware, for maximum privacy and security, because that is what I want from a tool that touches court filings and other sensitive records.
DocLoupe will release first for Microsoft Windows through the Microsoft Store, followed by macOS and Linux. It already works on the Mac, but a sandboxed application has specific hurdles to clear before it is ready to ship there. AI features are on the roadmap, but they will come after we have shipped a fast, private foundation.
